(Report writing on road accident-1): One killed and one injured in a road accident in Dhaka:
Sabiha, Staff reporter, 17 November: A schoolboy was killed and one other injured seriously in a road accident this morning near Jasimuddin road, Uttara.
A speedy car ran over the boys while they were crossing the road on the way to their school at around 8.00 am.
Just after the accident the car driver and the passenger somehow managed to escape the accident spot.
People from the neighborhood area rushed to the spot. Seeing the brutal accident, the agitated people vandalized the car and set fire. Some of them took the injured boy to a nearby hospital.
The boy was identified as Shafkat a student of class five. The name of the injured student is Mahir a student of class six.
The traffic on the road halted for an hour. High officials of the police came to the accident spot and calmed the agitated crowd.
A case was filed with Uttara police station in this connection.
(Report writing on road accident-2): Two killed, 5 injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Tangail Highway:
Abir, Staff reporter, 15 December: Two farmers were killed and five others were injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway this morning.
The witnesses said that a Dhaka-bound fish-laden pick-up collided head-on with a Tangail-bound passenger bus this morning at around 7 am.
The witnesses also said that there was a huge fog in the area. The drivers might not see the vehicles coming from the opposite direction.
Soon after the accident the locals rushed to the spot and started rescue work. The highway police patrol team also reached the spot soon.
One fish farmer died on the spot. Six passengers of both pick-up and bus were seriously injured. They were taken to the nearby hospital. The doctors declared one dead among the injured persons. Hospital sources said that the state of the two injured is critical.
The dead was identified as Hanif Mia (45). The injured are Rafiq (30), Safiq (32), Quddus (35), Mahfuz (40), Mizan (50), and Zainal (25).
A case was filed with the Tangail highway police station in this connection.
(Report-3): Motorbike private car head-on collision, 1 killed 2 injured
Staff reporter, Daily Star, Tue Dec 7: One motorcyclist was killed and two others were seriously injured in a deadly head-on collision between a motorcycle and a private car today (December 7, 2023).
The mishap took place at 6.00 AM at the intersection of Shantinagar. The motorcycle was heading towards Kakrail at a high speed while a private car collided head-on with the motorcycle. Instantly the bike fell on the road. There were three people on the bike. One of them died on the way to the hospital. The deceased was identified as Rakib (27), a permanent resident of Jatrabari. The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
Quoting an eyewitness, our local reporter informed both the motorbike and the private car were coming from opposite directions at a high speed when they collided head-on. It was early morning of winter and there was dense fog around. So, the motorcyclist and the private car driver did not notice each other.
Police arrested the slightly injured car driver from a nearby private hospital. The members of the law enforcement agency also seized the car. A case of unnatural death has been filed in this connection with the Ramna police station till writing this report.
