Dear Ratul,
Receiving your letter yesterday from the letter delivery person I was so delighted. You know your handwritten letter always brings happiness to me.
In your letter, you wanted to know about the annual prize-giving ceremony of our school.
Last Thursday, February 8 the annual prize-giving ceremony of our school was held. The whole school was in a festive mood as it was an important annual function. The program was magnificent.
The students and teachers of our school decorated the school building and the field well to celebrate the day in a befitting manner. The prize-giving ceremony is arranged to commend and award the students who have done well in a particular subject.
It was not only mere a day of prize-giving ceremony but also a day of reunion of the former students and cultural function. We could be familiar with our former student elder brothers and sisters. Many of them are now serving in different good positions of the government. Some of them are also well-established entrepreneurs. As a result, by talking to them we got motivated to work hard to be like them.
The prize-giving ceremony started at 9.00 AM with the recitation from the Holy Quran, hoisting the national flag, and singing the national anthem.
You will be happy to know that I was the parade commander of our annual parade. The chief guest was the chairman of our school. He gave away prizes to the winners of different events. I got two prizes. One for commanding the parade and another one for 100% presence at school.
The most exciting part of the day was a short cultural function. The cultural function started just after the prize-giving ceremony.
Students of different classes and also our teachers performed as participants in the cultural function. The anchor of the function was a student of class ten. The events of the program included poetry recitation, songs, dance, drama, and storytelling.
The guardians and the guests were among the audience. The audience enjoyed the cultural function very much and inspired the participants with clapping.
Please let me know about the annual prize-giving ceremony of your school. Looking forward to receiving your letter.
No more today. Stay well.
Your loving friend

Dear Faria,
At the beginning of the letter, I am expressing sorrow for not replying to your letter in time. I do not like to show you a boring excuse for this. I just want to say, “I am sorry.”
In your letter of sweet words, you wanted to know about the annual prize-giving ceremony of our college.
Last Monday the annual prize-giving ceremony of our college was held. Sharp at 9.30 AM the program started with the recitation of the Holy Quran, hoisting of the national flag, singing of the national anthem, and release of four pairs of white doves as a symbol of peace.
Our college authority hired a professional event management organization to decorate the campus. The college campus put on a mesmerizing view on the occasion of the prize-giving ceremony.
The chief guest was a famous educationist and a popular teacher from Dhaka University. He distributed the prizes to the students. It was a great pleasure for us that we could receive the prize from such an eminent personality.
By singing your favorite patriotic song “Dhono Dhanne Pushpe Bhora”, I got second prize in the music category. Besides music, I also participated in several other competitions. However, I could not win.
At the end of the prize distribution, the chief guest delivered his short but valuable and attractive speech. He advised the students to be more attentive in their studies side by side participating in co-curricular activities. Moreover, he also advised us to be conscious and careful about the negative effects of smartphones. The chief guest also requested us to emphasize developing our skills in the English language and computer.
The last part of the ceremony was a short cultural function. The students sang patriotic songs and recited poems. The guests enjoyed the performance of the students and praised the excellence of the participants.
What about the prize-giving ceremony at your college? I would like to know.
