Long long ago there lived two friends in a village. They were bosom friends. They promised that they would never ever leave one another alone in the time of danger………………….. There was a deep and big forest near the village.

One day they were walking through the jungle. All of a sudden a big bear came in front of them. One of the friends knew how to climb a tree and the other did not know how to climb a tree. The friend who knew how to climb trees climbed a big tree nearby.

Finding no other way the other friend hit upon a plan. He heard from the people that a bear does not kill or eat a dead man. He laid down on the grounds pretending a dead man.

The bear came to the lying friend and took the smell of his whole body. Thinking him dead the bear left the spot. The friend who was on the tree got down from the tree and asked his friend what the bear whispered into his ear.

In reply, the friend said that the bear advised him not to believe a friend who left his friend at the time of danger. The bear also said to me that a friend in need is a friend indeed.

(Story-2): A friend in need is a friend indeed

Once two young friends lived in the same village near a deep forest. The forest was full of dangerous animals. Generally, the people of the village did not enter the forest if it was not necessary because of the fear of the ferocious animals.

The two friends wanted to show the village people that they were brave. So, one sunny morning they entered the forest. While they were walking through the jungle they saw a bear coming toward them.

Seeing the bear they became frightened. They could not think of seeing such a scene. They were in a fix on what to do.

One of the friends knew about climbing trees. So, without thinking about the consequences of another friend he instantly climbed a tree. The friend who did not know about climbing trees was in great danger. Because the bear was just a few meters away from him. But the bear still did not notice him. So, it was a great chance for him to save his life.

He thought if he tried to run the bear would notice him and he would never escape from the bear. Because a bear can run fast. And he would not be able to compete with the bear in a race. Another reason not to flee was, that was a deep forest, and if he would run he might lose the way.

He became frozen thinking about what was in store for him. Right at that moment, he could recall that a bear does not eat a dead man. So, he took the risk of pretending a dead man. Nevertheless, he had no other option. He laid down on the ground and was praying to the Almighty.

After a few minutes, the bear noticed a man lying on the ground. The bear came near to him and smelt through the nose. At that time the young man stopped his breath. So, the bear did not get any sign of a living man. The animal thought that the man was dead. So. the bear left the place without causing any harm to the boy.

When the bear went away the friend on the tree came down. He saw everything from the tree. So, he was curious about the incident. He asked his friend what the bear told him in his ear. The intelligent friend said, “The bear told me not to believe and trust a friend who leaves his friend when it is a bad time.”

Moral of the story: a. A friend in need is a friend indeed.
