(paragraph-1): Greenhouse Effect
In natural order, the greenhouse is responsible for heating the surface of the earth. The process of the greenhouse effect makes the earth much warmer. We call the process the greenhouse effect because it warms the world in a similar way as a greenhouse. The growing greenhouse effect is causing a change in our planet that is affecting our lives. The carbon dioxide emitted by the burning of fossil fuels stays in the atmosphere for a long time. Its warming effects occur even when the sky is clear and dry.
The name greenhouse is derived from the name of some gases that are known as greenhouse gases. The gases are carbon dioxide (CO2), Ozone (O3), Nitrous Oxide (N2O), Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), etc. The temperature of the surface of the earth remains stagnant because of these greenhouse gases. The surface of the earth becomes blazing hot receiving heat from the sunlight. Naturally, this heat is supposed to be lessened. But because of the greenhouse gases, the temperature traps in the atmosphere of the world. As a result, the temperature of the world began to grow. In simple words, this is the greenhouse effect.
To mitigate the greenhouse effect we can take some pragmatic steps. Instead of using energy from fossil fuels, we can use renewable energy as a substitute. For instance, we can install solar panels in our homes and other places to get solar power. Using solar power could be a good solution to avoid the greenhouse effect. We should not use our cars unnecessarily. For short-distance movement, we can use a bicycle or walk on foot. By riding a bicycle or walking on foot we can protect our environment from greenhouse gases that produce our car. Planting trees is also a very good step to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas carbon dioxide in our environment.
The negative outcomes of the greenhouse are catastrophic on Earth. It is feared that within a few decades, the world temperature will increase to 4 degrees Celsius. The polar ice caps have started to melt. The sea level is rising. Consequently, the lower regions of the world will go under the water, and the southern regions of Bangladesh will also go under seawater. This catastrophic disaster must be checked. For our existence, we must control the emission of greenhouse gases to check the greenhouse effect. For the greater interest of the world and all of its living beings the leaders of the world should address the issue with utmost importance.
(Paragraph-2): Greenhouse Effect
The natural process of trapping heat or energy of sunlight by greenhouse gases is the greenhouse effect. This helps our environment to keep warm which is helpful for all living beings. The main greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, methane, and water vapor, etc. Every single natural process is necessary for the sustainability of lives. So, the greenhouse effect is also necessary. Because without the greenhouse effect our dear world will be too cold for us to live in. But we know excess of anything is not good.
Various human activities contribute to huge emissions of greenhouse gases in the air. In recent years, the emission of greenhouse gases has increased at an alarming rate. That is why the greenhouse effect has become dangerous for us. As a result, more heat of sunlight is being trapped in our environment. And our environment is becoming warmer and warmer. The temperature of the world is rising from the expected level. This is the greenhouse effect and the result is global warming.
Because of global warming so many problems we are facing. The problems are the melting of ice at the north pole and rising sea level. So, the people of the coastal areas are at risk of losing their habitat. More and more natural calamities like storms and cyclones are taking place which cause casualties of lives and damage to agricultural products. Only by controlling and decreasing the emission of greenhouse gases in the air, we can control the greenhouse effect.
