(Paragraph-1): COVID-19 or Coronavirus Paragraph

In December 2019 the coronavirus broke out first in the Chinese city of Wuhan in Hubei province. This virus is also known as covid-19. At first, the scientists did not pay much more attention to the virus. Even the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that it was a general flu.

But over time when the situation became worse and many people became infected by the virus and some people died then the Chinese government and the world could realize the danger of the situation.

The Chinese government cut all sorts of communication between Wuhan city with the rest of the country. Realizing the reality WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic. The virus spread out all over the world very fast. As a result, the virus has spread to all the countries of the world.

Within a couple of months, the virus has killed more than 600000 people and affected more than 14 million people. By June 2021 the virus had killed more than 3.7 million people and affected more than 170 million people across the world.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a great health crisis of our time and the greatest challenge we have faced since World War Two. Countries are trying to slow down the spread of the disease by taking different measures such as testing and treatment, quarantining citizens, banning traveling, lockdown, canceling large gatherings, closing schools, colleges, and universities, and canceling sporting events and concerts. People are losing their jobs and they do not know when normalcy will return.

Everyone is looking forward to an effective vaccine to fight the virus. Scientists all over the world are working day and night to find a way out by inventing a fruitful vaccine to fight against COVID-19.

And it’s a piece of good news for all of us that some of the countries like the USA, China, and Oxford University have invented vaccines and the trial of their vaccine is in the final stage. In 2021 some vaccines are available for us.

The names of some famous vaccines are AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinopharm, etc. Right now we have vaccines to fight against Covid-19.

(Paragraph-2): COVID-19

The full form of COVID-19 is the coronavirus disease of 2019. The number 2019 means the year 2019 on the calendar. This virus was first detected in the year 2019 in China. This is why the scientists have put 19 with the name of the virus.

It is said that Coronavirus has spread out across the world from a laboratory in Wuhan city. There is a controversy about this allegation.

In the beginning WHO declared that it is not a serious disease. It is a normal flu. But in March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared it a pandemic. The governments of almost all the countries imposed lockdowns.

The movement of the people was restricted strictly. Air, road, and rail communication came to a standstill. All-out steps were taken to stop the spreading of the deadly virus. According to Wikipedia, almost 7 million people have died worldwide from the beginning of the Coronavirus infection to 23 August 2023.

From 2020 to 16 August 2023, 29476 people died in Bangladesh affected by Covid-19 according to World Health Organization (WHO). The highest number of people died in the USA. The number of deaths till 16 August 2023 in the USA is almost 1.1 million according to WHO.

Besides the deaths of millions of people, the world has been suffering a huge loss in different sectors. The world economy is facing a crisis. Millions of people have lost their jobs. Millions of businessmen had to stop their businesses.

Schools, colleges, and universities across the world were closed due to this virus. People have to maintain some new rules such as wearing masks, maintaining social or physical distance, being in quarantine, washing hands after regular intervals with soap, using hand sanitizer to be safe from germs, etc.

When the whole world was dealing with the worst situation because of coronavirus infection, right at that moment scientists from different countries came forward to invent vaccines to fight against the deadly virus. Through day and night research and hard work, scientists became successful in inventing a number of vaccines to fight against coronavirus.

The vaccines are Oxford-AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, Sinopharm, etc. Since 2021 the governments of different countries have been vaccinating their citizens. The result of the vaccination is amazing. The virus is now under control. At least, 4.78 billion people in the world have already been vaccinated.

Bangladesh made a record by giving vaccines to almost 118 million people. If we maintain health rules properly, we hope to put an end to this pandemic.
