Story of a Liar Cowboy for SSC and HSC

The story of a Liar Cowboy is a famous educative story with a good moral lesson. We learn an important lesson from the story that we should not lie even to make fun since nobody believes a liar.

The story is important for the examinees of SSC and HSC.

(Story-1): A Liar Cowboy

Long long ago there lived a shepherd/cowboy in a village near a jungle…………………….. The cowboy used to tend his cows by the side of the jungle. He was a liar by nature. He used to shout Tiger! Tiger! Whenever he was tending his cows.

Hearing his shout the villager’s rushed to the spot. And they became astonished that there was no tiger. They asked the boy about the tiger. The cowboy laughed and said that he was just making fun. The cowboy made such type of fun several times.

One day a tiger really came to attack the boy. The boy shouted loudly to have help from the villagers. The villagers heard his voice but this time they did not come forward to help the boy. The tiger killed and ate the cowboy.

So, from this story, we could realize that we should not lie even to make fun.

(Story-2): A Liar Shepherd

Long ago, there lived a shepherd boy in a beautiful village. There was a forest near the village. The job of the shepherd boy was to tend sheep in the field from dawn to dusk. He used to take the flock of sheep near the forest for grazing………………

Having breakfast, he went out from his home with the sheep to the grass field. On one side of the field, there was the forest. He used to take a rest under the tree shade when his sheep were grazing.

The shepherd and his sheep spent the whole day in the grass field. So, he had to take his lunch from home. The shepherd was passing his days happily singing by tending the sheep.

But the shepherd had a habit of telling lies. He used to lie for no reason. He even lied to his close people.

One day he hit upon a plan to make fun. He started shouting wolf, wolf, wolf. Please help. Though there was no wolf he was screaming. Hearing the voice of the shepherd the villagers started running to the spot to help the boy. Going to the grass field, the villagers asked the boy about the wolf. The shepherd was laughing and said that he was making fun.

The villagers became astonished at the stupidity of the boy. They warned the boy not to make fun of life and death.

One day it was a sunny day. The shepherd was all alone in the grass field. To save him from the scorching heat of the sun the boy took shelter under a tree. Right at that moment a wolf came near the boy. Sensing the presence of the wolf the shepherd started shouting wolf! wolf!

The villagers heard the screaming of the boy clearly but they thought that he was making fun. So, they did not take any steps to help the boy. The wolf swooped on the shepherd and killed him.

(Story-3): Nobody believes a liar

Long ago, there lived a young cowboy in a village. His job was to tend cattle in the field from dawn to dusk. He used to rear a cow herd in a grass field near a small mountain………………….

Every morning he used to go to the grass field with the cow herd. On one side of the field, there were some trees. He used to take a rest under the tree shade when his cows were grazing.

The cowboy used to stay in the field till sunset with his cows. So, he used to take his lunch from home. It was his routine to eat his midday meal sitting under the shade of trees. For recreation, he used to sing and play the flute.

The life of the cowboy was very beautiful. But the problem was he had a habit of telling lies. He got amusement by telling lies. The cowboy enjoyed making fun by telling lies to others.

One day when his cows were grazing, he was shouting Tiger! Tiger! Help! Help! Though there was no tiger he was shouting pretending the fear of the tiger. As the village was close to the field the villagers heard his shout. The villagers instantly rushed to the spot with sticks in their hands to help the boy.

Reaching the spot, the villagers asked the boy where the tiger was. The cowboy burst out laughing and said that he was making fun. There was no tiger. Some senior villagers said to the boy “You are making mistakes. Such type of fun will be a boomerang for you.”

Again after a few days, the boy started screaming Tiger! Tiger! Help! Help! Hearing the shout of the cowboy the villagers rushed to the grass field to save the boy. They were again deceived. Because there was no tiger.

The villagers got angry. They vowed that they would never believe the boy again. They left the place with a sad heart.

After some days, a tiger really came. The cowboy shouted for help. The villagers heard his voice. But they did not believe him. So, they did not come forward to help the cowboy. As a result, the tiger killed the cowboy easily.

Moral of the story: Nobody believes a liar.
